Electric motorcycleThis E-Bike started as a draft, which was then turned to project proposal. Funding was the next step, after that was taken care of, it was time to build!

The first step for every project are those compelling project proposals. This is why we made 3! That's right! Detailing everything for an estimate cost, a part list, draft designs, and of course why our investors should be interested in it. We spent a good time during our summer doing so. It seemed like a wild idea then.
After contacting what seemed like hundreds of people (it was really only 4 or 5) frequently. Someone finally emailed me(Christian Ticas) with substantial promise. Though it wouldn't be for another month before I heard back from them. I was contacted again asking if I could show up to PCC's Foundation board and re-prepose the e-bike project. This was the break the e-bike was waiting for.
This is Jerry, why is he important? Jerry not only delivered our very first bike part. He was the first person to give us a discount along with free delivery for the e-bike. It was at this moment I knew the bike project was going to happen.
It was love at first sight! It was time to shop. With funding being granted I had to be sure to stick to the budget I had proposed. I searched through multiple bike shops all costing too much. I thought I was going to have to go back to asking for funding with some of these prices. I found a place who was willing to work with the budget I was giving them! (Thank you Silver Lake!) Though this bike was in rough condition, the e-bike volunteers saw this as more fun.
A calcium bath, grinding, sanding, and many man hours later. This is the current state of the bike. Not for long though! We are currently drafting (and accepting drafts designs) to get everything we bought mounted on the bike! There are no instructions for this, which makes this a juicy engineering project! Our minds are our tools.
We are the E-Bike team, and we promise the next time you see the E-Bike, it will be on Road&Driver ;) ..maybe. Keep up to date by staying on our mailing list! We are meeting up every week and in the design process! Contact us to join!
